I'm Robin Kinder, a home cook and passionate sourdough baker based in Texas. My love of cooking started young, grew through years of feeding family and friends, and found its truest expression the first time I pulled a golden sourdough loaf from the oven and couldn't believe I'd made it myself.

This blog is my way of sharing that joy — the recipes I return to again and again, the techniques I've learned the hard way, and the simple truth that food made with love tastes better.

I read cookbooks the way other people read novels. I'm always experimenting, always curious, and always happy to share what I discover — the wins and the occasional flat loaf.

My Story

I grew up watching my mother and grandmother cook without recipes — just instinct, memory, and love. That's where the name comes from. Every dish they made had a spoon full of lovin' in it, and I've tried to carry that spirit into everything I make.

Over the years I've cooked my way through hundreds of cookbooks, taken classes, watched countless hours of cooking videos, and spent more time than I'd like to admit troubleshooting why a loaf didn't rise the way I wanted. But that's the joy of it — there's always something new to learn.

Sourdough became my obsession a few years ago, and it's led me down a wonderful rabbit hole of fermentation, flour science, and the ancient art of bread baking. I started this blog to document that journey and share what I've learned with anyone who wants to bake better bread or cook more soulful food.
